Letter, 1784 August 13, Norfolk [Va.], to William Nelson, Williamsburg [Va.].

Acknowledges receipt of Nelson's last letter. Was preceded by a letter from the Governor [Benjamin Harrison] appointing Barrett a Notary Public, which he no doubt owes to Nelson's and [?] Short's influence. Responds to Nelson's questions concerning his suit against [Robert] Tucker's estate. Judgement was in Nelson's favor, but there are other claims against the estate and Nelson's may not be satisfied. Col [Thomas] Newton, one of the executors, was discouraging. Will do what he can for Nelson. Sends his wife Camilla's regards.
